Breakthrough Prompt for week of February 3

“If the literature we are reading does not wake us, why then do we read it? A literary work must be an ice axe to break the sea frozen inside us.” – Franz Kafka

You hold the ice axe of your stories, your knowledge, your memories of beauty, rage and hope in your hand. Begin with this prompt: “I will break through.”  Write for twenty minutes without stopping.

I’d love to read how you’ve broken through the ice of not-telling.
