Ever Vigilant: the more subtle forms of worker oppression

Cats are not cute. We are not for human amusement. Consider the case of Felix, the hard-working feline at Huddersfield Station in England. You might think at first glance that Felix has been honored by her sister/fellow imageshuman workers at the station. But on deeper consideration, we can see that Felix has simply been given the trappings of respect. Where is her pay raise? Where are her stock options? Where is her health insurance and retirement pay? And the day-glo vest? Can anyone out there spell W A L M A R T?

To Felix’s credit, she understands how to work the system as best she can without opposable thumbs:  “She said,’A mouse a day keeps the boss away… ‘” Nonetheless, like so many humans, she may have mistaken a tiny bite of wealth for real progress. I shall attempt to contact her via her Facecrock page. Perhaps she will want to serve as an operative from within the belly of the beast.
