What do you want?: Breakthrough tip for the week of 3/21/2016

I need your help. What do you want to learn about writing? Do you need to write more alive characters; more vivid descriptions of place; dialogue that is natural and compelling? Do you need to learn how to move the middle parts of a story, poem or essay? Do you need to know how to begin? And when to end? How to edit and when to stop editing? Do you need more motivational tricks and nudges? Do you want to know how to navigate the impossible world of hard copy and internet publishing?

I’m in the last stages of fine-tuning my short story collection, The Talker, which Torrey House Press will publish Spring next year – and my inspiration for inspiring others is running low. Writing energy goes where it’s more needed. So please make Breakthrough a collaborative effort and send me questions – either at this website or at my personal email. I’ll let you know what you all have asked for, then begin working with those themes.

Thanks for being part of Breakthrough Writing. ms
