Gratifying response from Margaret, a faithful reader

Greetings, my honorable friends and comrades, So often a cat with radical intentions can feel alone in a world of human corporations and feline apathy. I am always buoyed up by responses from you, my good readers. So, receiving this message from Comrade Margaret was a big boost on an otherwise discouraging day. (It rained. Rain is clearly a capitalist ploy.)

I’ve been reading Ruti’s reports from the FLF. I’m so glad that he’s doing well and staying busy with The Cause. What a voice of sanity in this crazy world.we write now?

I’ve been trying to encourage Buddy to begin a local chapter of the FLF, but although he appreciates the purpose he maintains that he’s far too busy to undertake such a demanding role.  After all, he has to make sure all the local toms understand his superiority, as well as keep the birds in line and watch over the quality of our little catnip plantation.  Right now he’s resting from his labors on my sofa, having come in when I got up (and he spent the night next door with his other family) and making it clear to me that my use for the sofa, where I read the paper, was far less critical to the fate of the cosmos than his getting enough rest.

Margaret has always been one of our human’s more perceptive and incisively intelligent friends. While I find Buddy’s current indisposition to become an active member of the FLF somewhat disheartening, I trust that more incidents involving the sofa may educate him to his relative powerlessness as a feline. (That observation is no reflection on Comrade Margaret’s revolutionary zeal!) We here at the compound look forward to more exchanges with Margaret – or any of you. It is through conversation that the Dialectic moves forward.

Today’s mewsing: The pen and the claw are mightier than the relentless march of capitalist growth.  Looking forward to more exchanges, Ruti, the Reliable
